On December 4th, 2010 the first annual chapter callout/picnic will occur. The event will feature a chicken wing contest. The patch to the right will be available for purchase for $4 each. Brotherhood will be offered as well. Looking forward to this annual event.

A postcard went out on November 10th to vigil members of Tipisa Lodge. If you do not receive a postcard, no problem, please RSVP and attend. If you know of a Tipisa Vigil and they did not get a postcard nor see this blog, please invite them to RSVP & attend, no one should be left out. If you can not make it to the event please email me your current address and email address so we can have it correct on our lodge records.

Speaking of Lodge records if your dues are not current you can pay at the December 20th reunion and pay a late fee of only $4 and 2010 dues are only $9 for a total of $13. If your dues are current it is only $9 to keep them current. By keeping your dues current you can attend lodge events and get the Nimat (Lodge Newsletter).

Vigil Necklaces (thongs) we will be selling them at the reunion for only $5 and includes us mailing it to you as each one is personalized with your vigil name. I will have an example available.

I will also have the Tipisa Lodge box and hopefully some of the display cases for viewing (please contact if you can help with moving the cases).

New Ayochatta Chapter Patch

New Ayochatta Chapter Patch:

This is the first chapter patch for Ayochatta Chapter.

The Charter Member patch is going to be given out one per person to each charter member up to December 31, 2010 who are dues paid. The chapter ordered 225 total patches. The patches that are to be sold will sell for $3 starting at the LLDP on Saturday August 14th. It is expected to only have about 50 patches for sale.

The Charter Member patch states just below this wording "Hatched May 15, 2010" this wording is ghosted.

The idea to create this patch came from the first Ayochatta chapter chief Tyler Cobb. Ayochatta means Red Hawk, so it was only appropriate for the chapter to be hatched.

The event will be held this year on September 10-12, 2010 at Camp La-No-Che. The patch will cost $4 and 500 are being produced. This patch also helps to celebrate the 60th anniversary of La-no-che.

The 2010-2011 patch theme is about unique places in Camp La-no-che.

Tipisa Lodge Service Weekend

Tipisa Lodge Service Weekend

The Lodge Service Weekend is scheduled for May 14-16, 2010 at Camp La-no-che, in Paisley, FL. The event is cost $17 plus a patch is an additional $4. Registration is now open for this event www.cflscouting.org

The Lodge has made 400 patches for the event and at current promotion of the event this will not be a sellout.

Tipisa 2010 National Jamboree Flap - Available

Tipisa Lodge 326 2010 National Jamboree Lodge Flap

This is the new Tipisa 2010 National Jamboree Lodge Flap. The flap will be for sale at the Central Florida Council Scout Show at the University of Central Florida (UCF) May 1, 2010. They will be sold for $3 each. If you are not able to make it to the Scout Show you will be able to purchase it at the Tipisa Lodge Service Weekend May 14 - 16, 2010. Micconope Chapter Patches

Micconope Chapter releases at the Tipisa Lodge Spring Conclave the latest chapter patches.

The chapter Lock-in was held a couple of months ago, so this patch is for a past event. It sells for $4.

The larger ceremonies patch sells for $7 by the chapter.

TNAW Follow-up

We had just under 900 people attend and we originally ordered 500 patches. The reorder was more than anyone expected. We are ordering 800 patches. The number of patches we generally need for any Tipisa activity weekend is a ratio of 1.5 patches per person. Well this event was the same even with having cub scouts and non OA boy scouts in attendance. Everyone had a great time and look forward to the 2011 TNAW.

Tipisa Native American Weekend (TNAW)

Tipisa Native American Weekend (TNAW)

This is the 2nd time this event will be held, but it is the 3rd time we have produced a patch for the event. This years event will be February 5-7, 2010 at Camp La-no-che in Paisley, FL.

As of January 29th the event has 600+ pre-registered. This will make it the largest TNAW ever. Only 500 patches ordered. The patches will be given out one per person and any extras purchased prior to the event, they will be mailed to you if you do not pick them up at the Spring Conclave in March. If you requested more patches at the event they will be available thru dinner at the Spring Conclave, if not picked up before dinner starts then the patches will be for open sale when the box opens again for crackerbarrel.

The patches are $4 each, to request additional patches all you have to do at TNAW is signup at the Lodge box for the number of patches you would like. You are not paying for the patches in advance and will be able to purchase them at the Spring Conclave. As stated above if you do not purchase the requested amount before dinner on Saturday they will go on open sale the next time the lodge box opens.

New Joint Patch for Waga HLakgo & Elauwit Chapters

This patch is for the Apopka Shores District of Central Florida Council. The District was a merger of two districts as of January 2010 and the two chapters involved do not merge till May 2010 officially. This is why the Cook-o-ree has both chapter names on it. The OA has no specific role in the camp-o-ree.

The non-staff patch will sell for $4 each and if you are interested in any, please let me know. Their are a limited number of staff patches available and those are $10 each for purchase. All proceeds of the patch go to help fund the cook-o-ree.

The event is March 5-7, 2010 at Rybolt field @ Camp La-no-che. If you like food this is the event to join. They are having a chili cookoff and many other events throughout the day. Look forward to a great weekend.

New Elauwit Chapter Patch Tipisa 326

Elauwit Chapter Patch

This is the newest patch for the chapter.

The chapter is being split in half approx. part of the chapter is going to Takachsin and the other part is going to Waga-Hlkago chapter, in May 2010. The District split in January 1st, 2010.

The chapter expects to make a death patch as the final chapter patch. It's design and approx date available are not known. It is known the chapter will have its name on a Spring Cook-o-ree patch coming out in early March 2010. This patch is for the new district where Waga-Hlkago resides.

The current patch is available from the chapter for $4 each. If you are interested in purchasing please let me know and I can help you get the patches.

December 2009 Vigil Reunion Follow-up

Thank you to all who attended the 2009 Vigil Reunion held at beautiful Camp La-no-che.

We had approx. 45 people in attendance.

The 2010 Vigil Reunion at the Council Office in Apopka, FL on December 18, 2010.

Fun, Food and Fellowship was had by all. If you ordered a vigil medal dangle it is being made and should be ready by our Spring Conclave March 19-21st. It will be mailed if you are not in attendance to pick it up. If you want to attend or need help registering let me know and I will help in any way.
